Information

1. What is [Elemental Analyzer]

The English name of the element analyzer is called CHNOS Elemental Analyzer. A simple understanding is a semi-automatic or automated instrument that can detect a certain element content. In professional terms, elemental analysis refers to an instrument that can simultaneously or individually analyze several elements in a sample.

The element analyzer is a routine laboratory instrument that can simultaneously perform rapid qualitative or quantitative analysis and determination of the content of C, H, N, S, and elements in organic solids, highly volatile and sensitive substances. It is widely used in chemical and pharmaceutical products, such as fine chemical products, medicines, fertilizers, petrochemical products, carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, and nitrogen content, thereby revealing changes in compound properties.
2. Application scope of CHNOS Elemental Analyzer

1. Environmental monitoring: mixed fertilizer, waste, soft mud, sludge, ore mud, coal slime, sediment, fertilizer, pesticide and wood, solid and liquid garbage.

2. Geological materials: marine and river sediments, soils, rocks and minerals.

3. Agricultural products: plants and leaves, wood, food, dairy products (such as milk).

4. Chemical and pharmaceutical products: fine chemical products, pharmaceutical products, explosives, catalysts, organometallic compounds, polymers, synthetic rubber, leather, fiber materials and textile products.

5. Petrochemical and energy: coal, graphite, coke, crude oil, fuel oil, petroleum, gasoline additives, lubricants, oil additives.

6. Physical properties: cement, ceramics, fiberglass, tires, fuels, pigments, building materials, insulation materials.

3. Basic working principles of element analyzer

Although various element analyzers are different in structure and performance, they are originally designed based on chromatographic principles.

1. Under the action of the composite catalyst, the sample undergoes high-temperature oxidation and combustion to generate nitrogen, nitrogen oxides, carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide and water, and is driven by the carrier gas to enter the separation and detection unit.

2. After the adsorption column adsorbs and retains the non-nitrogen compounds, the nitrogen oxides are reduced to nitrogen gas and then measured by the detector. The oxides of other elements are then separated and determined in the order of C, H, S through the adsorption and analysis of the adsorption-desorption column.

3. The presence of fluorine, phosphate or large heavy metal substances in the sample will have a negative effect on the analysis results, and the use of elemental analyzers for determination of strong acids, alkalis or substances that can cause explosive gases is prohibited.

Note: Because the mineral composition and crystal structure of soil samples are complex, in order to ensure the accuracy and stability of the determination results, the sample particles must be sufficiently uniform when using the element analyzer.

Fourth, the scope and type of element analyzer

The range of elemental analyzers is relatively wide. Basically, the instruments based on elemental analysis include the following:

ROHS command analyzer, carbon and sulfur analyzer (infrared carbon and sulfur analyzer), nitrogen analyzer, Kjeldahl nitrogen analyzer, Dumas nitrogen analyzer, organic element analyzer, mercury analyzer, metal multi-element analyzer, thermal conductivity element analysis Analyzer, infrared element analyzer, oxygen and nitrogen analyzer (oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen analyzer, sulfur and nitrogen analyzer, carbon sulfur analyzer (infrared carbon sulfur analyzer), calcium iron coal analyzer, carbon silicon analyzer, material analyzer, gas Element analyzer

5. General situation of element analyzers on the market

There are not many such products on the market, but you must carefully distinguish

1. One is a high-performance element analyzer, mainly imported equipment, the price is relatively high, generally a price of hundreds of thousands, can quickly carry out the content of dozens of metal and non-metal or organic components in a short time , High accuracy;

2. A "counterfeit" instrument sold under the name of an element analyzer is actually a gimmick and concept of some instrument manufacturers. It is only a modification of a general return instrument, and it is generally called a few element analysis. Instrument, the real element analyzer is not called a few element analysis. Pay attention to the response speed, accuracy, and type of such instruments; it is important to note that price is only one factor, and more importantly, the core is to solve the needs of element analysis and testing.
